In our second installment of Swaasth-ik 2017, we are excited to announce four confirmed workshops, namely Essential Surgical Skills, Laparoscopic Skills, Simulated Patient Program and a Research Toolkit. We also have another surprise workshops who’s details we will release as we come closer to the conference date. The details of each of these workshops has been listed below.
Essential Surgical Skills
This will cover a didactic session from one of our best surgery faculty on washing, infection management and wound healing along with hands on training of suturing. Instead of the usual sponge pad used for training, we would be providing ANIMAL TISSUE.
With the best equipment, highly distinguished faculty and the opportunity to practice suturing on animal tissue, we believe that you would not miss this chance!The Registration Fee is only ₹350 which includes 1 meal and certificate for the workshop. Duration of the Course is 2 hours.
This workshop will be carried out under the guidance of Dr. Tehemton Udwadia, the father of Laparoscopic Surgery in India at ceMAST, Worli, Mumbai.
Our participants will get the opportunity to handle the world’s most sophisticated simulators and learn the basics of laparoscopy.
The session starts with exercises to improve motor coordination, cognition and then hands on training on the simulators. The fees are only ₹ 600 and is inclusive of 1 meal, travel and certificate for the workshop. This event is at ceMAST, Worli.
Simulated Patient Program
This workshop serves to teach the basic art of history taking, general and systemic examination. Under the guidance of our best faculty, our participants will take cases of the trained volunteers (trained by Rotaract Club of Caduceus) and present it to the faculty.
Further, the faculty would correct any mistakes and guide them the correct way of taking the case. The participants have an opportunity to take many cases since they have to rotate after a fixed period of time.The fees are only ₹ 400 and is inclusive of 1 meal and certificate for the workshop. The duration of the workshop is 2 hours.
A complete 8 hour guidance session which includes 3 sessions: Research Methodology & Study Designs, Searching and Managing References on PubMed and Biostats & Scientific Paper Writing.
The first and third session will be conducted by the HODs of Clinical Pharmacology of two reputed colleges in Mumbai. Both of these professors have about 100 publications, secured national & international grants, and have conducted several clinical trials.
The second session on searching & managing references will be conducted by the most renowned professor in that field, Dr. Vasumathi Sriganesh from QMed Knowledge Foundation, an NGO which serves to spread awareness about these issues.
Fees of the workshop is ₹ 600 and is inclusive of 2 meals and a certificate for the workshop.
● All workshops are open to UGs and PGs from all medical departments.
● You will be asked to fill your preferred batch, but the batch given to the delegates will be on first come, first serve basis.
● Certificate of completion of the course will be given to all participants.
THE WORKSHOPS ARE ACCREDITED BY MMC AND THE PARTICIPANTS WILL BE AWARDED 2 MMC POINTS.
